Life often brings many difficult challenges that make processing traumatic events, emotions, and reactions hard. For children and teens, balancing school, social media, puberty, friendships, family dynamics, and environmental changes can further complicate their developing minds. Navigating emotions and thoughts becomes particularly challenging during these times, especially when figuring out the next steps in difficult situations.

I use a holistic, creative, and individualized approach in the therapeutic process to support each person’s unique experiences, needs, and goals in therapy.

I aim to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable space where you can confidently express yourself and feel truly heard and understood.

Navigating life’s challenges can be overwhelming, especially when you’re unsure where to turn for support.

As a parent, watching your child face challenges can be incredibly difficult, especially when it’s unclear what they’re struggling with. When their struggles aren’t immediately visible or easy to pinpoint, it can leave you feeling helpless and uncertain about how to help. That’s where I come in. My mission is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where children and teens can feel comfortable exploring their emotions and experiences. I work collaboratively with them to uncover their struggles and help them develop practical tools to improve their mental and emotional well-being. In my work with teens and children, I focus on building trust and creating a space where they feel safe to express themselves without fear of judgement.

I support children and teens in working through a variety of challenges such as social anxiety, identity exploration, academic pressure, and emotional regulation. Through therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I work with them to understand and manage their emotions. Each approach is tailored to meet their unique needs, ensuring that they feel heard, understood, and equipped for growth.

For adults dealing with addiction or substance use challenges, I provide compassionate counseling that combines Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction strategies. These evidence-based approaches help us explore the relationship with substance use, understand their motivations for change, and create a path to recovery that respects their pace and personal journey.

I bring over three years of experience in counselling, crisis intervention, and mental health support, with a particular focus on youth and families. I have worked in diverse settings, including schools, addiction support programs, and mental health clinics, and I am passionate about supporting children, teens and adults through their mental health journeys.

My approach is attachment-based and meaning-focused, with a strong emphasis on the client-therapist relationship to ensure you feel safe being your authentic self. When helpful, I draw on existential, psychodynamic, and cognitive therapies (such as ACT) supporting holistic self-discovery.

My experience in mental health includes spending several years as a research assistant in the psychology field, volunteering at crisis lines and forensic mental health centres, and offering mindfulness workshops as a registered yoga teacher. Whether you’re new to therapy or have experience under your belt, reaching out can be challenging. It is scary to open yourself up to someone you just met and share your story, and I get that. I aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive space that is free from judgment so that you can explore your experiences and concerns at your own pace.

My own experiences have taught me many things; however, what has resonated with me the most is that most of us strive to feel safe, understood, and accepted. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I aim to foster an environment where these feelings are possible. I believe each person has a unique story that deserves to be shared.

I work from a trauma-informed lens and use various approaches when working with individuals and couples. Some of these approaches include Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. When working with interpersonal relationships, I aim to help foster an environment where communication and vulnerability feels possible. I hope that by working collaboratively together, we can find the best approach to meet your goals.

Taking that first step to reach out for support and discuss your story is a great sign of strength and it also signifies the beginning of a personal, enriching journey. I work alongside children, adolescents, adults, and couples while working towards goals that are formulated in collaboration with clients to ensure that any unique needs are being met and inner strengths/resources are being nurtured.

In my therapy work today, I work with children and adolescents who are experiencing various forms of anxiety, low mood, self-harm tendencies, disordered eating, grief, and trauma. I also work with children and adolescents who identify as being neurodivergent or twice-exceptional and those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Much of my work with these younger clients focuses on providing the necessary skills needed for these youth to thrive versus survive among today’s society and climate. My work with these clients is rooted in Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to provide the necessary emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills to get through the highs and lows. It is also rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with the intention being to interact differently with thoughts that are not serving them in a purposeful manner. At the heart of the approach for younger children is play therapy, so that children can learn to discuss their feelings and develop necessary skills in a fun, playful environment.

In my work with adults, I focus on various presenting issues, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, relational concerns, trauma, and gender-based violence. I embrace an eclectic approach pulling from multiple different therapy modalities in order to best follow the lead of my clients and tailor interventions and techniques to their unique needs and desires. I primarily adopt a trauma-informed, strengths-based, humanistic lens and draw upon core tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion Focused interventions. I also work with couples through an Emotion Focused lens.

My journey of being a psychotherapist began several years ago when I commenced a psychotherapy internship at a children’s non-profit mental health organization to work with young children and their parents. However, my interest in mental health and providing accessible, trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive care began much earlier when I chose to become a volunteer at The Royal Ottawa while in high-school. Shortly thereafter, I began volunteering at a Distress Centre, facilitating support groups for children/youth in the community, and volunteering at a paediatric palliative care centre. These volunteer experiences stood out to me as being incredibly valuable at such a young age particularly due to my own struggles with anxiety and low mood as an adolescent and seeing many people close to me struggle in a similar manner – I wanted to help make a difference and these volunteer experiences seemed like the perfect start and took me on my trajectory towards my life’s purpose.

Processing emotions alone can be difficult. I aim to provide a safe space where every client feels valued, honoured, and respected, putting forth empathy and a non-judgemental attitude every step of the way. Sometimes it can feel like you or your child are constantly trying to keep up with a world that doesn’t quite understand how you experience it. Big emotions, anxiety, behavioural struggles, or feeling different from others can make everyday situations, school, relationships, or family life, feel overwhelming. For parents, it can be difficult watching your child struggle while wondering how best to support them. For teens and adults, these challenges may show up as anxiety, feeling misunderstood, or feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to change. Therapy can offer a space to slow things down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and support.

I provide therapy for children (10+), teens, and adults navigating emotional, behavioural, and life challenges. Many of the individuals and families I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of how to move forward.

My background includes several years working in the Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) field supporting neurodivergent children and individuals with disabilities, including those with dual diagnoses. I have worked with children as young as two years old, and this experience continues to inform my therapeutic work with older children, teens, and adults.

In therapy, building trust is central. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts and emotions without judgment, while developing practical tools to navigate challenges and build resilience.

As a counselling intern completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I draw from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centred approaches to help clients better understand their emotions and strengthen their relationships.

If you are considering therapy, I understand how important it is to find the right fit. Reaching out can feel like a big step, and I would be honoured to support you or a member of your family.

Life is full of change, both big and small. Every experience—whether exciting, challenging, or unexpected—shapes us in some way. Over time, we grow, shift, and evolve, sometimes in ways we never anticipated. But while change is inevitable, adjusting to it isn’t always easy. You might find yourself feeling disconnected, uncertain, or wondering how to move forward as the person you’ve become.

Maybe life feels like an endless cycle of responsibilities, leaving you searching for something more. Or perhaps a major transition—moving, shifting careers, starting or ending a relationship—has left you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. It’s easy to get caught up in overthinking or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.

But what if things could be different? What if you could feel more grounded, confident, and connected to your life? The truth is, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

In my work, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people step out of autopilot, reconnect with what truly matters, and navigate life’s transitions with clarity and resilience. ACT isn’t just about managing stress—it’s about learning how to be present, flexible, and intentional, even when things feel uncertain.

I work with people from all walks of life—teens, adults, and seniors—offering a space where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace. No matter where you are on your journey, you’re not stuck. Your spark is still there.

If you’re looking for a way to feel more aligned, more present, and more like yourself, I’d love to support you.
